Tele2 and Com Hem to create combined fixed and mobile operator in SwedenJanuary 11, 2018Tele2 and Com Hem are to combine their businesses in Sweden, creating an integrated fixed and mobile operator. As part of the agreement, Com Hem shareholders will receive around 26.9% ownership of the enlarged Tele2 Sweden, and a total cash consideration of SKr 6.6 billion ($0.8 billion). Despite Com Hem’s minority ownership of the new business, Com Hem’s existing CEO, Anders Nilsson, will be in charge of the combined entity.

Broadband helps keep growth steady for Sweden’s largest cable operatorFebruary 09, 2016Broadband internet helped Swedish cable operator Com Hem achieve a year of steady growth in 2015, despite a decline in fixed telephony. Total revenue generating units (RGUs) for Swedish cable operator increased 3.2% year-on-year, reaching 1,615,928 at the end of 2015, with the bulk of this driven by the addition of 46,656 internet RGUs over the year. Com Hem also turned in stable growth in its digital TV subscriber base, which increased 2.9% over the year to 635,319 RGUs. This continues to be assisted by the operator’s investment in TiVo, which at the end of 2015 represented 35% of Com Hem’s digital base.

The fourth quarter of 2014 saw 1.7% growth on the previous quarter, with digital subscribers standing at 617,598. Year-on-year, this was a growth of 3.5%, reversing the decline of 2.5% experienced in 2013.
Swedish cable operator Com Hem announces Initial Public OfferingMay 23, 2014Swedish cable operator Com Hem is to launch an Initial Public Offering on the Stockholm stock exchange. The offering will largely consist of new ordinary shares. Com Hem expects to raise a total of SKr5.5 billion (€551 million) through the IPO, and intends to use the net proceeds to improve its debt standing. Com Hem’s decision to increase its funds through equity follows significant investments made by the company in digital TV and broadband, as well as its entry into B2B (business-to-business).
