Ronan de Renesse leads the Consumer Technology and Media & Entertainment practices. He directs the development and delivery of industry-leading forecasts and reports from his team, while acting as a principal analyst specializing in the impact of technology on consumer trends such as AI, 5G, and IoT.

Ronan has been analyzing the TMT industry for more than 15 years. Prior to joining Omdia in 2014, he was a principal analyst at Analysys Mason and IHS Technology.

With previous research experience in media, telecoms, and devices, Ronan is the go-to analyst at Omdia for consumer technology research. He spent two years in San Francisco, advising leading tech and internet giants on future technology trends. He is prized as a global technology commentator, discussing a range of issues with Bloomberg, CNBC, Sky, and the BBC, and regularly features in business and tech press such as the FT, The Wall Street Journal, The Next Web, and Wired.

Ronan holds a PhD in telecommunications from King's College London.
