Josh Builta

Josh Builta serves as a senior principal analyst within the Omdia Transformative Technologies team.

He is responsible for providing customers actionable insight and strategic assistance about the emerging technologies that are transforming our world. In an earlier role at Omdia, he led iMachine-to-Machine (M2M) research group and managed a team of analysts that provided extensive, in-depth and comprehensive analysis of the M2M market. Before Mr. Builta returned to Omdia in 2019, he was a vice president of product management at Ingenu, a network service provider targeting the Internet of Things (IoT) market, where he developed and drove Ingenu's short-term and long-term portfolio strategy by translating business requirements and market trends into a product vision. He directed the product management team that managed IoT software and hardware network technology providers. Earlier in his career, he served as an analyst with the U.S. Department of Defense and Department of Homeland Security. His roles encompassed in-depth research on a variety of national and international security topics that required accurate yet timely information and data to address time-sensitive intelligence requirements.He holds a bachelor’s in political science from the University of Tennessee, United States.
