As a principal analyst in the cloud and data center research practice, Mr. Galabov focuses on data center compute covering disruptive trends such as the shift to cloud computing, innovations in the Ethernet adapter and server markets, the adoption of Open Compute Project (OCP) equipment, and the evolving requirements for efficiency, automation and diversity in compute hardware, software and silicon. He frequently is an invited conference speaker who is often quoted in technical publications, such as SDx Central, Light Reading, Fierce Telecom, and eWeek. Before joining IHS Markit, he held a number of analyst positions at Intel covering client computing, data center and IOT markets. He served as a long-term coach to the business management group in Europe and the Middle East (EMEA) providing expertise in supply chain models, business planning and revenue forecasting. Mr. Galabov played a key role in increasing the breadth and depth of Intel's market knowledge in EMEA, introducing an in-depth PC inventory tracking model, improving the accuracy of Intel's market and revenue forecasts and piloting an actionable IOT market model. His work served as a central input to Intel sales and marketing leaders when setting sales goals and defining strategy, improving the EMEA revenue plan forecast accuracy by 10%. Mr. Galabov holds a Bachelor of Science degree in economics and management from Aston University, United Kingdom.

The global COVID-19 pandemic has had a wide reaching impact on many industries, including data center (DC) computing. Preliminary shipment data and vendor feedback point to the enterprise market segment being severely impacted as enterprises delay or cancel investment in DC compute altogether. Signs of strain in the global supply chain amplify this trend in the first half of 2020. On the opposite side of the scale, DC compute vendor feedback point to positive demand for communication and cloud services.
