Lucas Beran is a principal analyst in the Cloud and Data Center Research practice at Omdia in Austin, Texas.
Mr. Beran advises clients on market analysis, product development strategies, marketing initiatives and acquisitions. His research focuses on uninterruptible power supplies in data centers and industrial applications, UPS maintenance, energy storage, and prefabricated modular data centers. Mr. Beran has been quoted in trade journals such as Data Center Knowledge, top tier news outlets such as Bloomberg, and featured in a short 3M sponsored video providing market commentary. Prior to joining Omdia, he worked at the Danish Institute for Study Abroad (DIS) in Copenhagen, Denmark. He provided IT support to staff, faculty and students in Copenhagen as well as remote support to the North American office. During his time at DIS, he managed projects most including WiFi quality testing, and deploying new WiFi access points to improve WiFi quality across 14 buildings and student residences; deploying VMware Horizon for staff and student applications. Mr. Beran holds a bachelor's degree in economics from the honors college of Boise State University, United States.
