A regular contributor to various reports and databases such as the Mobile Handset Database – Country report, the Active Installed Database, and Model Market Tracker, Gerrit looks at the market from a consumer’s perspective, keeping a finger on developments in the wireless carrier space, as well as applications and services which impact smartphone usage and trends. He is regularly quoted in print and online publications. Before focusing exclusively on mobile handsets and smartphones, he specialized in the Portable Navigation Device (PND) market. He also covered location-based technologies and LBS services for the consumer market.
Gerrit joined the company in 2008 as part of iSuppli, now part of Omdia. He graduated from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities, with a Bachelor of Science in political science, and he completed his degree work for a Master of Science in predictive analytics at Northwestern University, both in the United States. He is fluent in English and German.
