Mr. Paul Erickson, senior analyst at IHS Markit, drives connected device research and a range of topics for the broadband intelligence service.
With over 13 years of technology industry experience, Paul’s topical experience has included consumer electronics, pay and broadcast TV, digital content, DVD and Blu-ray Disc, HD broadcasting and services, digital set-top boxes, IPTV, over-the-top video hardware and services, home audio, advanced user interface technologies and digital rights management.
Paul’s current coverage areas include connected devices, over-the-top video hardware, multiscreen delivery and consumption, network audio devices and the evolution of user interface technology within consumer devices. He is part of the team driving connected device research within the Broadband Technology Intelligence service.
Prior to joining IHS Markit, Paul worked as a competitive intelligence and strategy analyst within the enterprise software sector for IBM and Vignette Corporation, as well as served as a consultant on a number of independent projects for Dell, Compaq, Silicon Graphics and AT&T. He was also the director of DVD and HD market research at DisplaySearch, and was featured at the 2009 International CES as an expert panelist speaking at the Blu-ray Disc Association press conference.
