Kelly Lum

Kelly Lum contributes to the Public Display Market Tracker for shipment and revenue data on LCD and OLED displays. Apart from that, she is involved in research pertaining to media players, set-top boxes, PCs, and software services. Additionally, she gauges market shares for these technologies and digital advertising revenue, as well as other hardware products and services. Kelly also supports ongoing consultancy projects in the Digital Signage and Professional Displays group.  

Prior to joining the company in August 2013, she worked at ALG, a TrueCar Company, as a consulting analyst in the automotive industry. Kelly interacts closely with automotive manufacturers in the U.S. and Canada to forecast residual values, optimize proposed sales strategies, and create recommendations based on expected segment and industry trends. She graduated in 2008 from the University of California, Santa Barbara, with a Bachelor of Arts in economics/mathematics and a minor in statistical science. She is based in Campbell, California.

At the onset of the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, many believed the only issue facing the displays market would be supply chain constraints in China, which would soon normalize and disappear. However, the coronavirus is now categorized as a global pandemic, with the number of reported cases showing no signs of slowing in the immediate future. As the number of cases in China enters a stabilization phase, the severity of the outbreak has multiplied in other parts of the world, causing an increase in global digital signage demand and supply chain issues toward the end of the first quarter.
