Chenyu Cui is a Senior Research Analyst, Games at Omdia.

Chenyu Cui joined Omdia in May 2012 as an analyst in the Games team and is based in Shanghai, China. Chenyu's research responsibilities include coverage of all Asia Pacific markets, with a specific focus on China and also include analysis of massively multiplayer online games, multiplayer online games, social network games and other online games markets.

Chenyu graduated with an MA in Cultural and Creative Industries from King's College, London, UK, in Jan 2012. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from Northeast Normal University, China and Edinburgh Napier University, UK.

Tencent’s investment roadmap into Japan

Tencent reported strong revenue growth amidst the COVID-19 pandemic

Tencent reported Q1 2020 results on 14 May 2020. Compared to the same period last year. Amid the pandemic, Tencent’s Q1 online advertising revenues grew 32%. Tencent’s online video subscription service, Tencent Video, gained almost 6 million new subscribers during first quarter of 2020, with 26% year-over-year growth compared to 19% in previous quarter. Meanwhile, smartphone games business experienced a sharp quarterly increase of 34%.
