David Scott

Mr. David Scott, associate director of research and analysis at IHS Markit, specializes in the media markets of the Asia-Pacific region.

Based in Australia, David’s responsibilities include tracking television and home entertainment trends and developments in 13 territories in the Asia-Pacific region.

David has developed statistical models for projecting the operational growth of television operators in the region, and he plays a key role in forecasting trends in the digital video markets of Asia Pacific. He authors the Asia-Pacific Pay Television Market Monitors and Asia-Pacific Video: Market Assessment and Forecast report, and has co-authored the Cinema and Home Entertainment in China report. He also contributes to a wide range of consultancy projects.

David is the project lead for the Australian Home Entertainment Distributors’ Association (AHEDA) Yearbook, and he regularly provides information to AHEDA and the Home Entertainment Association of New Zealand (HEANZ), as well as other trade organizations.

Prior to joining IHS Markit, he was an industry analyst with Cutler & Company in Melbourne, participating in a wide range of consulting assignments in Australia, Malaysia, Hong Kong and the Philippines.

David holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (Hons.) from RMIT University in Melbourne, Australia.
