Ms. Charlotte Jones is the associate director of Research and Analysis for Cinema at IHS Markit.
She is a research and analysis associate director in the IHS Markit Cinema team focusing on the global cinema business and a specialist on digital and 3D market trends. She is responsible for the day to day management of the IHS Markit Cinema Intelligence service and has actively expanded it since for it to become one of the most in-depth and comprehensive databases in the industry covering close to 60 international markets. She has also been responsible for developing a number of detailed industry models and creating new research and report areas, such as giant screen cinema, global exhibition circuit rankings, developing markets and premium pricing tiers. Charlotte leads the IHS Markit research on 3D cinema and has also taken a lead role in developing related cross-platform 3D analysis. Ms. Jones is the author of a number of high profile industry reports, including the first major industry study on 3D Cinema published in 2007, The Business Case for 3D Cinema, and authored the comprehensive annual reports on Global Film Production and World Cinema Exhibition among others. Drawing on her expertise, she regularly advises clients ranging from Hollywood studios, private equity firms and technology companies. She has been actively involved in a range of consultancy projects in the fields of customised modelling, business strategy and new market opportunities. As a recognised expert in the field, she is a regular keynote speaker at a number of high profile global conferences and film festivals and is frequently quoted in the international consumer and specialist trade press.
Prior to joining IHS Markit, Charlotte held analyst positions at Kagan World Media and Sport Business Group.
She holds an MSc degree in International Business and graduated from University of Wales, Aberystwyth, UK with an honours degree in Geography.
