Lite packages, those with fewer channels, and being offered at discount prices, have become common place in US pay TV. As of Q2 2019, IHS Markit estimates that of the 95.0 million pay TV subscribers in the US in Q2 2019 that 26% or 24.9 million subscribers, subscribe to a lite package. However, even with the proliferation of lite packages, cord cutting has averaged 676,790 subscribers per quarter since Q1 2018.
