Two years after Billy Lynn’s Half-Time Walk conspicuously failed to break HFR into the mainstream of cinema, director Ang Lee has been granted a second attempt, with Paramount backing his next film, Gemini Man. The October 2019 release will test once again the public reaction to high frame rates at the cinema. This report looks at the technology and market issues raised by the release.
