Chinese smartphone manufacturer TCL has acquired the rights to make and sell BlackBerry branded handsets around the world. The deal will enable TCL to leverage on the legendary brand’s popularity among business users and expand into the more lucrative enterprise market in the US and Europe. While TCL focuses on hardware designs and manufacturing, BlackBerry will play a complementary role in providing security software and services which are very much needed to succeed in the enterprise market.
