IHS Technology presented its view of the requirement for exhaust aftertreatment sensors in passenger cars at the SCR Systems / Off-Highway Applications conference held in Stuttgart 6-7th July 2016. Following the VW diesel scandal and sharpened focus on testing in Europe ahead of the Real Driving Emissions (RDE) testing changes due in 2017, this talk gave a timely overview of the sensors required in both diesel and gasoline engines past and in future in light of the emissions regulations such as LEV III and impending Euro6c. Euro 6c is seen as very significant for the European gasoline direct injection engine market due to the adoption of particle filters and associated sensors for monitoring. The data and analysis is based on the Automotive Intelligence Sensor Service.
