Mediapro, on the sidelines of the Spanish pay TV market since the failure of its Gol T pay TV service this summer, has stormed back with a successful €1.9 billion deal for rights to key Spanish football matches for the next three seasons. Telefonica, which currently owns all pay TV rights to the top two divisions and the Copa del Rey cup competition, will have rights to a single first division match after winning the other package announced on 3 December with a €750 million offer.
