Apps are crucial to the uptake of wearable devices. Wearable apps are what make wearables smart. Through the use of hardware sensors like heart-rate monitors and accelerometers, app developers and service providers are able to innovate and offer users a unique user experience differentiated from the standard mobile and tablet experience.
