The demand for industrial chips is rising in parallel with global economy upturn and new technology deployment. Since rebounding from the plunge in 2012, industrial OEMs spending on semiconductor devices has consistently outgrown overall semiconductor market. As market confidence rekindles and government and corporate capex picks up, the semiconductor spending for industrial applications is poised to reach new heights in the next two years.

The most recent IHS OEM semiconductor spending analysis shows that the annual net spending by top industrial OEMs will grow to $36.7 billion in 2016, up from $26.6 billion in 2013 –
