The cinema exhibition market in the Central and Latin America region (CLA) has gone from strength to strength in the past few years. Six major territories in the region were covered in this research, namely Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Colombia and Venezuela. They all witnessed a fast and healthy growth in the cinema exhibition sector. The Top 50 circuits from the six territories controlled a total of 9,185 screens across 1,252 sites in 2014, a net of 393 screens were added from last year, according to IHS research.

  • Top 10 Central and Latin America circuits account for 75.7 per cent of the total screens in survey
  • 16 exhibitors out of the 50 listed have over 100 screens
  • Mexico has the highest number of screens and is the most concentrated market
