Israel's broadband market is structured such that infrastructure provision is functionally separate from the business of being an ISP. Infrastructure is currently provided by two players, Bezeq (60 per cent market share) and HOT (40 per cent market share), with a third, IBC, soon to join the fray - prompting investment pledges from the incumbents. The consumer ISP market is currently led by three ISPs - Bezeq International, Smile and Netvision, with HOT?s recently launched ISP gaining ground. As a consequence of the new competition we anticipate further speed increases for consumers, as well as more extensive price competition -impacting both the infrastructure and ISP markets.
